Located approximately 45 miles north of Pensacola off Highway 29 and just a few minutes south of the small town of Century, the Salters Lake Recreation Area is a day-use area featuring a small boat launch.
The launch itself is a fairly steep decline and is best suited for canoes, kayaks, and small boats.
The boat launch provides access to the Escambia River, the fourth-largest river in Florida and home to more than 85 native freshwater fish species.
Anglers without a boat can still fish at the recreation site. The shoreline has several shaded areas ideal for a sling chair and a cane.
No ATV’s allowed.
Motorized vehicles allowed on designated roads only.
